A Year In ...

Hi there!

Well, it's been a year now since I launched Cotton House Lifestyle and, as you would expect in the first year of a new business, it's been full of both amazing 'I got this' moments and moments when I have to remind myself why I'm doing it! These moments are always helped by all the supportive and complimentary comments I receive from both customers and fellow vendors and of course, all the great people I have met in the last year, there have been times when I have laughed so much it hurts! So thank you lovely people! And in those moments when I do ask myself why I am doing this, I tell myself these 4 things

1 I genuinely love what I do...

Both creating and styling. I always have, I love styling up the same dress in different ways to suit different occasions and different moods.

2 I really believe in the clothes I design...

The cut, the fabrics and the wearability. I don't want to wear my workout gear every day and I equally don't want to be trussed up in tight-fitting and sweaty manmade fibres when I'm dashing about my varied day when a beautiful, whimsical kaftan just won't suffice.

3 I believe in a sustainable future...

I'm proud to be working with natural vegetable dyes and hand made techniques which not only help the local communities but also put less strain on our environment.

4 As much as I hate the term...

.....I admit it, I'm a trailing spouse, and have been for 12 years now, its all my girls know of me. I can remind them many, many times that in my past life I used to have a very 'high powered job' and travel the world but ultimately they know what they see. I'm proud that they see that Mummy too, can do more than the school run!

Anyway... that's it for now...I'm off on the school run! But I'll leave you with a little taster of colour inspiration for what's to come.. 'Golden Hour' 2019
